Basic requirement of 2T@25M Flow Boom Crane :

1.The crane has platform with operation handles; Every crane has separate power-pack. Entrance to platform by ladder.

2.Hoisting gear is composed of motor, reducer, drum, brake, wire rope and hook block. Winch gear with hydraulic operated fail-safe brake. The drum should be designed for a capacity to take the wire rope on max 3 layers.

3.Luffing cylinder is used to change crane radius. The outlet port of cylinder equipped with one way balance valve, which prevent jib lowering.

4.The crane should be provided with a slewing ring designed for marine applications. The slewing gear is of the planetary type with multi disk brake.

5.The crane is provided with an automatic hook stop in top and lower position.  If the slew section is less than 360°, the slew limit switch will be provided.

 6.The control box should be included as standard, light for motor running and power available and calculagraph, and start /stop buttons in the front door.

7.The hydraulic power unit is individual type ,which will be located in the ship machine room under shipdeck. The hydraulic system is open in type, the pressure oil transfers to relevant oil circuit to   drive every operation unit. Each hydraulic circuit is provided with equipment for limiting hydraulic pressure to preset values corresponding with crane capacity.

8.Hydraulic pipes are of the seamless steel. The hoses are selected to give a safety factor of min 4 against rupture.

9.Mainly supporting parts are high strength plate. All welding seams are according to WPS weld rules, mainly welding seam should be NDT.

When installing the crane, the technicians started by carefully calibrating and making the foundation steady. This is to make sure it can handle the heavy pressure and different working situations when the crane is in use. Then, they put up the main part of the crane bit by bit. Big parts like the boom and slewing platform, and small ones like bolts and electrical circuits, were all installed and checked according to exact standards. For example, there are a lot of M24 slewing ring bolts. The technicians checked each one to make sure the slewing part works well. They also made sure the pipe sizes were right as per the design.
